Greenhouse gas emissions from New Zealand sheep and beef farms

چکیده
This project aimed to develop a dataset containing animal policies, production efficiencies, and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions of large number sheep beef farms, examine the relationships between farm management physical constraints, GHG emissions. We used farm-scale model Farmax estimate feed inventories, livestock policies 170 New Zealand farms. Emissions were calculated from outputs using Agricultural Inventory methodology. quantitative approach cluster farms based on constraints attributes. Mean annual biological modelled 3,662 kg CO2 equivalents (CO2-e) per effective hectare, ranged 157 7,096 CO2-e/effective ha. As stocking rate product (wool + net carcass weight) hectare increased, increased. However, there was considerable variability in data; with approximately 4,000 ha had an almost three-fold difference (range 129 360 kg/effective ha). Our work provides holistic assessment drivers comprehensive current state affairs or baseline which future trends can be established.

They cited Weiss (2007) in claiming that increased detection and treatment of in situ breast cancer must be considered when interpreting recent trends in breast cancer mortality r...
متن کاملA Comparison of the Greenhouse Gas Emissions From the Sheep Industry With Beef Production in Canada
Sheep production in Canada is a small industry in comparison to other livestock systems. Because of the potential for expansion of the sheep industry in Canada, the GHG emissions budget of this industry was assessed in this paper. The GHG emissions from Canadian lamb production were compared with those from the Canadian beef industry using the ULICEES model. The GHG emission intensity of the Ca...
متن کاملGreenhouse Gas Emissions of Tourism-Based Leisure Farms in Taiwan
This research is the first attempt of a carbon emission investigation of tourism-based farms. A total of 36 cases were investigated. The result reveals that each tourist returns an average revenue of 28.6 USD and generates an average 10.9 kg-CO2eq per visit of carbon emissions. The average carbon emission density for each land area is 8.2 t/ha·year and is 245 kg/m2·year for each floor area. It ...
متن کاملGreenhouse gas emissions from rice
Rice provides the staple food for over 60% of the world’s population. Globally 80% of rice is grown by small farmers in low income and developing nations, and in India rice farming is a key source of employment for the 60% of Indian workers still dependent on agriculture for work. Yet rice production is also an important source of greenhouse gas emissions, for example responsible for between 3 ...
